LENNYKALIMBA

I use homemade instruments such as kalimba-xylophones and bamboo flutes, as well as samples of drums and gong-gongs recorded from different regions of the world to create my music. My style is a fusion of various genres such as Indonesian gamelan, Moroccan Gnawa, and Algerian Gasba music. The result is a kind of electronic world music with complex beats and improvised, transcendent flute and kalimba riffs.

Algorytme

Released at Kosmossolo.dk ( 4. Marts 2023) All musik and artwork by Lennykalimba Marstered by Aske Krammer

Algorythm reflects what I sound like when I perform live today. It is a continuation of my last release (Son of a gong), which I have sampled and mixed with new sounds.
It is inspired by North African music, especially Gnawa music from Morocco and Gasba music from Algeria.
I mix rhythmic ideas from: Gamelan, Gasba and Gnawa music, and makes rhythmic, random, forever changing algorithms out of it. Most sound are made out of Indonesian, african and home made percussion instruments.
I play acoustic homemade instruments along with the whole thing. Most of all kalimba and kaval flute.

Enjoy!
